Have you ever seen something on the internet that you love, only to find out that it’s something that is too difficult or expensive to transport? Most of the time, with us, it’s because the item is 5 states away. We have found that we can only buy & sell efficiently if the items are within 100 miles. We have often said, why don’t people tell you upfront where something is located before you fall in love with it? Central VA Auctions tells everyone up front where we are located. If you are in California, you will know up front that it’s not going to be easy to do business with us. We are a local / regional auction house & we don’t have a shipping department. This being said, we give people 30 days to pick up items from Central Virginia. We are open 3 days a week for previewing, picking up & bringing consignment. We don’t require appointments, unless you really need to deal with the owners or if it’s a huge amount. We deal in all types of art & every day antiques. Our starting bid on smalls is $5 & we don’t have reserves. So everything will bring what it will bring. Our goal is to have a low drama atmosphere & to be easy to do business with.
